2010 Financial Strategies

Welcome back!

Written by Chicagohealers.com business service owner Julie Murphy Casserly –

A new year means a new beginning. It’s time to put the financial turmoil of 2009 behind us and find our pathway to financial abundance through authenticity – i.e. creating financial success by being truthful and genuine to yourself and those around you. So how does this journey to abundance begin and how do you keep it going strong throughout the year? I’ve included a few strategies below for a financially successful 2010!

  1. 1) Decide exactly what type of financial life you would like to have.
This means identifying your own deep-down desires, your life’s passions and allowing them to move you forward. Once you start living your life with purpose, the money will follow. Start mapping out your financial plan. Navigate away from your current financial patterns and create new goals that support your life passions.

  2.

  3. 2) Clear space in your life to obtain these goals.
Often times, there are things and even people standing in the way of your new goals. This is what I call your “crabs in the bucket.” – things or people who support your current financial reality. If you have friends who are huge spenders and use credit cards all the time, try to go shopping with those who actually pay cash for items, or spend less frivolously. If you have a “Negative Nancy” in your life, shift your thinking before you encounter them. Say to yourself, “I know what’s right for me and I will reach my financial goals this year.”

  4.

  5. 3) Prioritize which items are the first things to go.
On your path to financial success, there are going to be things you need to get rid of in your life. This could be material items, or even just a way of thinking. For example, if your closets are too cluttered from all of your shopping sprees, donate them and get a tax deduction. Or, remove the negative thoughts that are taking up space in your brain and replace them with positive thinking and reinforcements. Create space for the new you!

  6.

  7. 4) Get your credit score cleaned up.
If your credit score is below 720, make it a priority to review your credit report and get it cleaned up. This report will filter down to many different items in your financial life and you don’t want this standing in the way of your goals. Consider hiring a company like www.veracitycredit.com to assist you. To receive a special discount on this service, e-mail me at info@jmcwealth.com.

Reiki: How It Works

January 4th, 2010 -- Posted in Uncategorized | 0

Written by Chicagohealers.com practitioner Beth Baxter–

How does it work?

Reiki restores and balances one’s physical, mental, and emotional energies. It puts one’s physical body in the best condition to promote healing.

Why does it work?

The reason that Reiki works is that it connects the universal life force energy with the body’s innate (inborn) powers of healing. Reiki also induces the relaxation response and puts the body in the best condition for healing. And we know that it is the body that eventually heals itself. The body’s innate intelligence regulates the amount of Reiki that one receives and where it goes so one cannot give or receive too much Reiki.

What can I expect?

The session will begin with a quick discussion about Reiki and the process. You will lay on the massage table or sit in a chair and I will use my hands to send energy into your body by moving my palms from the top of your head to your feet. My hands will generally be 2-4” above your body and you will feel nothing but a little heat. Occasionally, particularly at the feet, I will place my hands directly on your skin or clothing. Most likely, you will fall asleep and feel refreshed and relaxed when you wake up.

Will it interfere with my medical treatments?

No. Reiki speeds up the process of healing and can be used in conjunction with many medical technologies, and therapies, as well as psychological counseling, to bring about healing. It is not a substitute for medical care.

Holiday Feng Shui

No matter what the occasion, the first step in Feng Shui is clearing clutter and cleaning the area. After you have cleared , cleaned and organized the area where you will be entertaining, you need to decided on themes, purpose, how many people will be invited, who will be there, and what actives and foods will you have.

Once the theme has been decided, plan the decorations with warm relaxing colors. Use goldenrod, earthy greens, tans, amber, deep rich reds or maroons etc. You want a color scheme that will be both relaxing and welcoming.

You will also want to create a good flow of traffic thru out. Are you having an actual sit down event , buffet or cocktails with appetizers ? If you are having a formal diner, have that room separate from the rest of the party , allowing the rest of the party area to be designated as the place for social gathering. For a buffet style party, have an area for the food and a section for drinks. You will also need to have seating scattered about in organized fashion that doesn’t block flow of traffic. A party that is just snacks, appetizers and cocktails has a bit of free flow. You can arrange several areas for food and drinks scattered through out the room so that people can stroll from place to place and socialize.

The decorations should be pleasing to the eye, but kept to a minimal. Overly large, or overwhelming items or too many things create an environment of anxiety. The stimulation will be too much and will make it hard to relax into the party. Flower arrangements on the table or through out the room should be conservative and moderate to short. Anything big or tall will not allow for conversion across the table. Because people will be visiting and talking, music would be very nice, but needs to be low and soft so that it doesn’t compete with everyone there.

If you stick to the basics of Feng Shui, your party will be a success. So remember, clear and clean, plan in detail, go low and conservative on decorations, and allow for good social flow patterns through out the party area.
