Natural foods which enhance sexual performance

December 23rd, 2009 -- Posted in Uncategorized | 0

Welcome back!

More than anything else, it is the mind that is instrumental in determining sexual performance and sex drive in men and women alike. If men and women were to be given a placebo and told that it is a tried- and-tested sexual performance product, it is likely to have a positive affect to enhance sexual performance..

Despite this, foods that we consume can play a vital role in determining sexual performance. A rich meal provides nothing more than calories, and is more likely to induce sleep and laziness rather than an active desire for intercourse.

The arousal of passions is far removed from the treatment of sexual dysfunctions. Performance enhancing drugs need to be taken before intercourse each time. Aphrodisiacs like hippo snouts and hyena eyeballs are based more on folklore, with no backing of scientific evidence.

Natural foods can help to enhance sexual performance. They can also help in arousing passions and creating the desire for passionate love making.

An erection is obtained by a process that is closely linked to the circulatory system. Unlike popular belief, erection is not only a male phenomenon. Women have erections that occur in the clitoris and the tissue surrounding the vulva, the external parts of the female genital organs.

Arginine is an amino acid found in proteins. The absence of arginine from the diet can lead to a reduced production of spermatozoa. It is also necessary for proper nutrition. Granola, peanuts, cashews, walnuts, dairy, green vegetables, root vegetables, garlic, ginseng, soybeans, chickpeas, and seeds are all rich in L-Arginine. Consumption of these can go a long way in improving your long-term sexual health. Chili peppers and ginger improve blood circulation and also stimulate nerve endings, a process that helps in obtaining sexual pleasure.

One of the major factors that retard sex drive in women is vaginal dryness. This occurs naturally during menopause. Vaginal dryness makes intercourse painful, leading to a constant refusal to have sex. Soy in the diet helps in vaginal lubrication since it sticks to the estrogen receptors, which determine the amount of lubrication needed by the vagina. Additionally, it also helps in avoiding hot flushes associated with menopause. Soy is also good for prostate health and can help in restricting prostate enlargement, a common cause of lack of sex drive in men.

Obesity is considered to a risk factor for certain sexual dysfunctions. It also causes a reduction in testosterone levels. Natural foods that reduce weight can also boost your sexual urge, desire, and performance.

Alcohol gives a temporary boost to self confidence. Caffeine and sugar provide a short term surge of energy, and like most of the other sexual performance products, only have short-term benefits.

Stress-free and healthy men and women are in a better position to have satisfactory sex. Natural foods and healthy lifestyles (which encourage smooth circulation of blood) eliminate stress and provide nutrition, which can provide long-term benefits to enhance sexual performance.

How to Increase your Metabolism

December 23rd, 2009 -- Posted in Uncategorized | 0

Keeping a healthy body is vital part of enjoying life to the full. From this perspective, weight loss really does take on a new meaning and an entire industry evolved around weight loss products, pills and potions. One of the big selling points in recent years has been that of metabolism and in many ways advertising ‘trashed’ the term. So what is metabolism and are there really any foods that boost metabolism?

Skipping meals throughout the day only deprives the body of much-needed fuel that keeps metabolism at a desirable rate. One of the worst things one can do in terms of eating is to skip breakfast, which is responsible for supplying the body with an effective metabolic jumpstart for the rest of the day.

Diet

To boost metabolism you should be aiming to eat six smaller meals a day as opposed to three large ones. This will help to keep your energy levels higher throughout the day and therefore avoiding those lethargic slumps. Never, ever skip meals, particularly breakfast. Going too long without eating will cause your body to go into its primitive state “starvation mode.”

Increase Your Exercise Frequency

Exercising and moving more frequently is a sure way to kick your metabolism into high gear. When you exercise, your metabolism is boosted, and it will continue to remain high several hours after. Therefore, you can permanently burn more fats if you exercise regularly.

Your body is a system and every part of that system uses energy from the food you eat in order to operate efficiently. In fact, your body is using energy at this very moment to move your eyes across this page. The level of efficiency with which your body converts food into energy is called metabolism.

Building muscle is a good way to boost your metabolism because the body needs to work harder to maintain muscle than fat. Thus more calories will be used up. Typical ways to build up muscle are weight lifting but if this bores you then strenuous work in the garden can provide this muscle building exercise.

Anaerobic exercise is exercise that is done at a lower heart rate and for shorter bursts of activity. And anaerobic activity delivers a solid metabolism boost for up to 48 hours. This makes anaerobic the king of all metabolism boosting exercise options.

Boosting your metabolism is not hard if you have the determination to follow these eleven tips. There are other considerations that can affect the rate at which you burn calories such as age, weight, lean muscle mass, and genetics but if you make the necessary lifestyle changes you can lose the weight you want.

If you are looking at boosting your metabolism to lose weight, aerobic training such as brisk walking, running, cycling, roller skating and dancing are the activities you should start out with. In addition, aerobic exercise can be performed in the gym on treadmills, stair-steppers, cycles and rowing machines. Aerobic exercises should be done daily for at least 30 minutes or as long as 60 minutes.

Choose Vitamins that Boost Your Metabolism - Getting the right nutrition will certainly help your body to function better. Making sure that you take in plenty of foods that contain Vitamin C and the B Vitamins will give your metabolism a natural boost by helping your body cleanse itself of toxins.

Successful Fat Burning Diet

December 23rd, 2009 -- Posted in Uncategorized | 0

The foods you eat are very important when following a fat burning diet. Certain foods are healthy and contain particularly compounds that help burn fat rather then store fat. In any such diet you want to minimize the amount of fat, particularly saturated fat, and maximize the amounts of dietary fiber and lean protein you are consuming.

Eating healthy to have a successful fat burning diet doesn’t mean eating dry rice cakes accompanied by celery sticks. Eating healthy implies eating a bit from all your food groups during the day while making smart choices. Eat smaller portions. Small meals mean you are ingesting fewer calories. Fewer calories ingested means more of the calories stored as fat in your body being burned! This fat burning diet doesn’t require you to starve; you just have to kick your body into high gear.

Examples of these fruits are apples, blueberries, cranberries, oranges, grapes, cherries, papayas, peaches, pineapples, mangoes, strawberries and tangerines. For vegetables, most of the green leafy and fibrous ones are very much important in burning body fat. These include broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, eggplant, cucumber, green beans, leek, beet, lettuce, okra, squash, and string beans.

Apples are excellent fruits. You must have heard the phrase that an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Well.. they can keep fat away from the body too! Apples elevate the glucose levels in your blood in a safe and gentle manner. This will make you feel satisfied longer after munching on apples. Apples are also a rich source of soluble fiber. They can prevent hunger pangs.

Eat small meals often. - David and Anne Frahm in their book, “Healthy Habits”, mentions that “snacking is not the problem of the typical American diet. The snacks are the problem.” You can eat a lot of healthy meals as long as they are spread out during your day. This is what is known as the grazing method.

Fruits are great for burning fat. Your body contains sugar and it looks to get its sugar intake through the foods you eat. This is why some people have a sweet tooth.
Unfortunately, a chocolate may give you the sugar you are craving, it doesn’t help you to burn fat. Fruits like apples and peaches are great for burning fat.

Breakfast on a fat burning diet should include citrus fruits which are high in vitamin C. Vitamin C helps to liquefy fat so it can be flushed out of your body. Start your day with freshly squeezed orange juice, tomato juice or grapefruit juice followed by half a grapefruit or a banana and a slice of wholemeal toast.

Green tea has been used for fat burning for years. In addition to drinking it brewed either hot or cold, you can also take green tea capsules that will give you the same effect. By doing this and cutting down on your intake, you will lose the weight you want to lose and be able to keep it off.

Among vegetables, green leafy vegetables like cabbage, spinach, broccoli, celery, lettuce, parsley, asparagus and green beans are known for their fat burning ingredients. Consuming these vegetables regularly results in a trimmer waistline, there is no doubt about that.

Apart from these, tomatoes, cantaloupes, garlic, eggplant, turnips, pumpkins, scallions, radishes, beets, carrots and squash are other vegetables with same quality.
